Kerala Weather Update: Light Rain with Thunderstorms to Continue Today; Alert Issued

Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Department has announced that light rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected to continue across Kerala today. While the India Meteorological Department’s 5-day forecast does not include any specific heavy rain warnings for individual districts, the possibility of light rain persists in all 14 districts of the state.
For the next three hours, isolated light rainfall is anticipated in specific districts, including Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, according to the central meteorological agency.
Additionally, strong winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, potentially gusting up to 60 kmph on occasion, are likely over the South Tamil Nadu coast, Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar, and the adjoining Kanyakumari coast. Similar adverse weather conditions are also forecast for Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, South Bay of Bengal, Central Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh coast, and the Andaman Sea. Residents and maritime communities in these regions are advised to exercise caution.
