Kerala Schools Reopen June 2nd with Special Focus on Comprehensive Quality Education

Thiruvananthapuram: As schools across Kerala prepare to reopen on June 2nd after the summer vacation, the Department of Education has issued comprehensive guidelines for implementing quality education within the first two weeks of the school timetable. Classes from standard two to ten will have dedicated periods during this initial fortnight, focusing on anti-drug awareness and instilling legal literacy. This announcement was made by Education Minister V. Sivankutty.

The guidelines for implementing comprehensive quality education will be integrated into the school timetable for the first two weeks. These directives are applicable to classes ranging from standard two to twelve. Key themes covered in these guidelines include legal awareness, personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, civic sense, anti-drug awareness, cyber awareness, and road safety rules.

According to the Minister, classes based on the new circular must be conducted from June 3rd to 13th, with one hour allocated daily for these special sessions. The Education Minister emphasized that the primary goal during these initial days is to build confidence in children, enabling them to engage in learning activities in both the classroom and campus without hesitation. The Department of Education has also released a circular detailing the specific themes to be implemented during this period.
