Heavy Rains Intensify in Kerala; Orange Alert Issued for Four Districts
Central Kerala Braces for Intense Rainfall; Yellow Alert for Six Other Districts

Heavy rainfall has intensified across Kerala, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting intense rain in Central Kerala today. An Orange Alert has been declared for four districts: Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Idukki. Additionally, a Yellow Alert has been issued for six other districts.
The Yellow Alert is in effect for Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. The IMD also warned of strong winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Coastal areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha are also likely to experience sea erosion.
The renewed spell of heavy rain in Kerala is attributed to a cyclonic circulation that has formed in the upper atmosphere over Southern Tamil Nadu and the Gulf of Mannar. The state is expected to experience heavy rainfall for the next four days. The IMD has specifically predicted isolated extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday and isolated heavy rainfall until Wednesday.
