Hanan Shah Remembers Kasaragod’s Love Amidst Concert Chaos

Kasaragod: Social media influencer and singer Hanan Shah has addressed the incident where approximately ten people were admitted to the hospital following a stampede during her recent musical performance. In a Facebook post, Hanan expressed that she had arrived in Kasaragod for the event with considerable anticipation.

A large number of people had gathered for the performance since noon. However, the crowd outside the hall, without tickets, was nearly double the number of ticketed attendees inside. Hanan clarified that due to the insufficient space to accommodate the overwhelming crowd and the potential for further complications if the event continued, she had to cooperate with the police, perform only a few songs, and conclude the program early.

Hanan further added in her post that she would always cherish the love shown by Kasaragod and expressed hope to return for another performance on a more adequately prepared stage.

The incident took place recently at a ground near the New Bus Stand in Kasaragod. People had begun to gather in large numbers even before the musical performance commenced. Ten individuals were subsequently hospitalized due to physical discomforts caused by the dense crowd, with hundreds packed outside the venue.

Police had to resort to a lathi-charge to control the struggling crowd. The massive turnout, far exceeding the organizers’ expectations, led to the stampede. The event was ultimately canceled due to the dangerous overcrowding, resulting in significant traffic congestion across the city.

In connection with the incident, police have registered a case against five organizers. The First Information Report (FIR) indicates that the organizers proceeded with the event despite prior warnings from the police.
