Government’s High Court Plea Against Rahul Mankootathil’s Bail Postponed

The Kerala High Court has adjourned the hearing on the state government’s petition challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Rahul Mankootathil by the Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court. The case has been postponed until after the upcoming Christmas holidays.

The decision to defer the hearing came after Rahul Mankootathil’s legal team sought additional time to submit a response to the government’s challenge. The Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court had previously granted anticipatory bail to Mankootathil in connection with a second rape complaint filed against him.

In related developments, authorities have deployed plainclothes police officers outside Mankootathil’s residence in Adoor, Pathanamthitta district, to closely monitor his activities. Police protection has also been instituted around the property. On Monday morning, Mankootathil was observed traveling to a local temple on his scooter, with plainclothes police following discreetly. He subsequently returned to his home after the temple visit. It was reported that Mankootathil had arrived at his Mundappally home in Adoor the previous night, having traveled from Palakkad.
