
P.E.B. Menon (86), a senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist, passed away. He was undergoing treatment at Amrita Hospital. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon, with his body expected to arrive at his residence in Aluva by evening. Menon was a prominent figure within the RSS, having served as the former Prant Sanghchalak.
Since 2003, P.E.B. Menon held the position of Prant Sanghchalak and was also the head of the renowned chartered accountant firm, Balan and Company. His journey within the Sangh Parivar began as an activist of the Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi, influenced by his association with P. Madhavji. Over the years, he took on various responsibilities, including RSS Aluva District Sanghchalak, Ernakulam Vibhag Sanghchalak, and Sah-Prant Sanghchalak.
Menon was a dedicated Karyakarta (worker) who spearheaded numerous social and educational initiatives. Through various trusts affiliated with the RSS and Seva Bharati, he played a crucial role in establishing several girls’ homes, boys’ homes, mothers’ homes, and educational institutions.
He was also a spiritual disciple of the late A.V. Bhaskarji, a senior Pracharak and founder of the Vidya Bharati movement in Kerala, who also served as the former Organizing Secretary of Dakshina Kshetra.
