Deputy Mayor Ashanath Reflects on ‘Blessing and Inspiration’ of Meeting PM Modi
Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Deputy Mayor Ashanath has expressed that her recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will forever remain a blessing and an inspiration in her life. Speaking in an emotional Facebook post, Ashanath described the profound impact of the moment she respectfully touched the Prime Minister’s feet at a BJP event held in Thiruvananthapuram, noting that it left an indelible mark on her soul.
Ashanath articulated that what she perceived in Prime Minister Modi was not merely power, but rather the very essence and soul of India. She recounted feeling an overwhelming sense of joy and pride as she performed the traditional gesture of touching his feet.
In her poignant social media update, Ashanath elaborated, “When I respectfully touched his feet, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji, who stands at the pinnacle of power, humbly touched my feet in return… In that moment, I forgot myself, and my eyes welled up involuntarily. Those were not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, pride, and gratitude.”
She reiterated that her encounter with the Prime Minister revealed humanity and culture, representing the true spirit of India. Ashanath emphasized that humility, in her view, is the embodiment of true greatness, a sentiment she found personified in the Prime Minister. During the same event, Prime Minister Modi also extended a gesture of appreciation to Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V.V. Rajesh, who was present, by embracing him and patting him on the shoulder.
