CPI Invites Public Feedback on Local Body Election Defeat

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has opened an unusual channel for public engagement, inviting citizens to submit letters detailing the reasons for the party’s and the Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) poor performance in the recent local body elections. This move marks a significant departure from the traditional approach where such evaluations are typically conducted internally by the party or through committees it appoints.
CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam announced the initiative, emphasizing the party’s readiness to scrutinize the feedback received from the public and implement necessary rectifications. Viswam acknowledged the public mandate, stating that the LDF is committed to addressing its shortcomings and making a strong comeback.
Members of the public are encouraged to send their letters assessing the causes of the CPI and LDF’s electoral setback. Submissions can be mailed to: Secretary, CPI State Council, M.N. Smarakam, Thiruvananthapuram-14. Additionally, feedback can be sent via email to office@cpikerala.org.
This initiative underscores the CPI’s commitment to introspection and a democratic approach to understanding its electoral performance, hoping to regain public trust and strengthen its position in Kerala’s political landscape.
