Case Filed Against Congress Leader for Sharing AI-Generated Photo of CM with Sabarimala Gold Theft Accused

Kozhikode: A case has been registered against a Congress leader for sharing a photo of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Unnikrishnan Potty together on social media. The Kozhikode Chevayur Police have filed a case against N. Subrahmanian, a member of the KPCC Political Affairs Committee, for this act.

N. Subrahmanian had shared images on Facebook, one of which was reportedly an AI-generated photo, featuring the Chief Minister and Unnikrishnan Potty, an accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case. Along with the picture, Subrahmanian posted a caption questioning the nature of the “deep relationship” between Pinarayi Vijayan and Unnikrishnan Potty.

The police have registered the case under sections BNS 192 and KPA 120, citing that the post was shared with the intention of inciting conflict between LDF and UDF workers.

Previously, CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan had clarified that the image showing Unnikrishnan Potty with the Chief Minister, which was circulated by Adoor Prakash, was an AI-generated fabrication.
