‘BJP Agent?’ Posters Against Bindu Krishna Erupt Outside Kollam DCC Office

Kollam: Posters have surfaced against Bindu Krishna, a prominent member of the KPCC Political Affairs Committee, outside the Kollam District Congress Committee (DCC) office. The contentious posters openly question her allegiance, asking if she is a “BJP agent.” These posters feature images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside Bindu Krishna, notably incorporating the Lotus symbol, which is the electoral emblem of the BJP.
The controversial campaign further raises questions regarding the involvement of NSS in Kollurvila, a constituency where 95 percent of the voters are Muslim. The posters allege that Bindu Krishna “sold” the Kollurvila constituency to appease community leaders, aiming to secure her candidacy in Kollam.
Another pointed accusation in the posters states, “The Kollurvila seat is not meant to be given to Bindu Krishna’s business partner.” The posters also draw a parallel, suggesting that if Deepthi Mary Varghese can contest in a general seat, then Hamsath Beevi should also be able to. Following the emergence of these posters and the ensuing discussions, Congress workers quickly moved to tear them down.
In response to the allegations, Bindu Krishna stated that she has no knowledge of the origin of the posters or who was responsible for putting them up. She clarified that the candidate selection process for the Kollam Corporation was conducted in a fair and optimal manner. Krishna emphasized that the candidate selection was a collaborative effort involving senior leaders in Kollam, asserting that she alone is not solely responsible and dismissing the allegations as baseless.
