For an extended period, local residents in Kariyad have been protesting against the discharge of polluted water from a nearby dialysis center. Their long-standing grievances regarding the lack of a proper solution to this waste issue led to a heated confrontation.
Upon the MLA’s arrival for the anganwadi inauguration, his vehicle was reportedly stopped by the protesting locals. As MLA Mohanan attempted to exit his vehicle and walk through the crowd, he was allegedly assaulted by the residents. The community’s frustration with the persistent environmental concern appears to have boiled over, leading to the physical altercation with the elected representative.
