Abortion Allegation Against MLA Rahul Mankootathil: Journalist’s Statement Recorded by Crime Branch

In a significant development concerning the abortion allegation against MLA Rahul Mankootathil, the Crime Branch has officially recorded the statement of the journalist who directly communicated with the victim. The journalist has affirmed her stance on the revelations she previously shared on social media regarding the accusations against Rahul. Furthermore, it is understood that she has provided the investigating team with crucial evidence obtained from the victim.
The special investigation team expedited their procedures following a phone call made by a Woman DIG to the victim, a 26-year-old native of Thiruvananthapuram. This contact was initiated under the directive of Crime Branch Chief ADGP H Venkatesh. The investigating team subsequently met the journalist in Kochi to document her detailed statement. The journalist had first spoken with the victim weeks prior and had then publicly shared her distressing experience through social media platforms.
The journalist, while reaffirming the allegations against the MLA, has reportedly handed over critical evidence to the Crime Branch. This includes complete versions of the controversial audio recordings that have already surfaced. These recordings are believed to contain explicit revelations from the young woman who underwent the alleged abortion.
In the audio evidence provided to the authorities, the victim also disclosed that Rahul Mankootathil had allegedly threatened to commit suicide if the incident were to become public. The journalist has indicated to the special investigation team that additional evidence could be provided once the victim has recovered her mental health and is able to cooperate fully with the Crime Branch investigation.
